Self-Esteem Booster – Positive Feedback List

In addition to the “AchievedInThePast” list, which serves as a significant self-esteem booster, I’d like to introduce another powerful tool: the Positive Feedback list.

If you’re unfamiliar with the “AchievedInThePast” list, I recommend checking out Discovering the Power of Journaling: The Importance of Accumulating Achievements for more information.

The Positive Feedback list is a compilation of all the positive comments and feedback you’ve received from others. Whether it’s from colleagues at work, interviewers, friends, family, partners, or even store clerks, this list captures and preserves every piece of uplifting feedback, no matter how small.

Maintaining this list allows me to revisit and recall positive feedback I might have otherwise forgotten. It’s surprising how easily we forget the kind words and encouragement we receive over time. In the past, I often found myself focusing solely on negative memories, which led to a darker, more pessimistic outlook. This tendency made me feel more downcast and hopeless. However, once I began journaling and creating lists of only positive feedback, I noticed an incredible shift in my mindset. I could hardly believe how much brighter and more optimistic I became.

It’s true that negative experiences seem to stick with us, while the positive ones slip away. I now realize how unfortunate it was to let those positive moments fade. While part of me wishes I had started this practice earlier, I’ve come to view my past struggles as necessary steps in my personal growth. Those experiences have shaped my methods and deepened my understanding.

I’ve always had a bit of a lone wolf nature, preferring solitude over being part of a group. While this aspect of me hasn’t changed much, I no longer feel as isolated as I once did. I attribute this change largely to the support of my Positive Feedback list. It serves as concrete evidence that I have a light inside me worth celebrating.

In many ways, compiling these lists feels like collecting treasures. They remind me of the brighter aspects of my life and reinforce my self-worth.

It’s important to note that positive feedback doesn’t always have to come in the form of direct compliments. Even casual remarks or unexpected words of praise from others can be included. The point is to accumulate positivity.

I encourage you to give it a try and start building your own Positive Feedback list.
